Our Experience
As you can see from the photos it was quite foggy when we did the walk! Loop starts from Lac de Payolle. Fairly steep start through quite muddy tracks then traversing pine forest and climbing to Col d'Aspin. Great for hot days as there is a fair bit of woodland cover. Descent follows a river valley back to the Lake.
Notes
This was a few years ago and the track had several fallen trees. They should have been cleared by now. There are no water sources on the ascent and the river on the descent is fairly small with potential for contamination from cattle etc so take plenty of water.
